    A Laudato Si’ Focus on Environmental Justice (Part 1) – January 21, 2021

    Dr. Catherine Wright will unpack the meaning of environmental justice and how Catholic Social Teaching (in particular Laudato Si’) gives us a helpful lens to view and act on this important issue. Veronica Coptis will present on respectful collaboration with area residents living with the daily impacts of fossil fuel extraction, to improve oversight of and accountability for fossil fuel extraction and use, and protect public and environmental health.

    Breathing in a Time of Crises – June 29, 2020

    We are living in a time of multiple crises, all calling us to take action. In the summer of 2020, racism, a global pandemic, climate change, pollution, wildfires, and detained immigrants, are all crises that we must confront. How are these multiple crises connected? How do the words, “I can’t breathe” connect to our faith? How can the tools of mindfulness meditation and compassion drawn from our faith guide us in responding appropriately in constructive ways, so that the Earth and all beings may flourish?
