    Season of Creation

    2020 Theme
    “Jubilee for the Earth”

JUMP TO: Trees | Prayer & Liturgy | Action Programs | Events | Past Years

    September 1 – October 4, 2020

From September 1 (World Day of Prayer for Creation) to October 4 (Feast of St. Francis) each year, the Christian community celebrates the Season of Creation by praying and acting together to protect our common home. The season is celebrated by tens of thousands of Christians around the world annually (https://seasonofcreation.org) with encouragement from leaders of other faith traditions.

The 2020 worldwide theme was “Jubilee for the Earth.” In the long Christian tradition of jubilee as a time of restoration, we focused on our relationships with each other and all creation to give a lasting rest to the earth.
